Celebrating over 60 years of service, the Kiwanis Club of Glenview-Northbrook was chartered in 1965 and has adopted the Kiwanis International mission of “Serving the Children of the World,” providing resources for local, regional, and international initiatives.
The Kiwanis Club of Glenview-Northbrook provides hands-on services and financial support to local, regional, and international causes. Kiwanis is an International organization whose members are worldwide. All that is required for Club membership is an enthusiastic commitment to the mission and goals of Kiwanis, and interest and participation in their local Kiwanis Club activities.
For more than a century, Kiwanis has created opportunities for children to be curious, safe and healthy regardless of the community in which they live. When you give a child the chance to learn, experience, dream, grow, succeed and thrive, great things can happen.

Our Kiwanis club fulfills the Kiwanis mission by serving our community through fundraising and community projects.
Kiwanis Service
Service is at the heart of every Kiwanis club, no matter where in the world it’s located. Members stage approximately 150,000 service projects and raise nearly US$100 million every year for communities, families and projects. By working together, members achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone.
The Kiwanis Club of Glenview-Northbrook focuses on changing the world by serving children, one child, one family, or one organization at a time. To reach more people and have a greater service impact in our communities, our club sponsors Key Club (a Kiwanis club for high school kids) at both Glenbrook High Schools (District 225).
At last week's Lunch meeting, Lisa Hannenan and Elizabeth Andaas spoke about "Blessings in a Backpack": Blessings in a Backpack is a non-profit organization that feeds school children in the United States who are fed during the week on the federally funded Free and Reduced Meal Program and are at risk of going hungry on the weekends. The program is new to our area, and the need is here as well. Our club is interested in supporting their efforts to make it a reality in our community.
Also, our club was recognized and congratulated by the President of the Cook County Board and the Cook County Board of Commissioners for our 60 years of service to the community. Yesterday, Matt Dimuzio (Government Affairs Liaison) and Dave McGee (Charitable Director) from the League of Very Ordinary Gentlemen (LVOG) spoke to our club about the extraordinary beginnings and growth of their club. This unique, truly Glenview-focused club grew out of the chaos of COVID by a group of dads who needed to socialize, exercise, get out of the house and play some ball! Word spread, the group grew, and a few years later, LVOG became a giving force in the community as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, giving back to the community by funding and supporting families in various ways and making a difference in lives.
