Occurring every September, Pretzel Days is an annual fundraising event organized by our club. During this event, members and volunteers distribute pretzels in bags and solicit donations from the public, typically at street corners and shopping centers. The funds raised are used to support various community projects, with a particular focus on initiatives benefiting children and youth. See our calendar for the specific dates this year!
Who We Support
Key Club Continuing Education Funds (Topaz/Bevington)
Every year, our Kiwanis club raises continuing education funds for the Glenbrook South and Glenbrook North High School Key Clubs through various fundraising initiatives, including Pretzel Days, community/sports drawings, and raffles.
Study Buddies (Youth Services of Glenview-Northbrook)
Study Buddies is a free academic-support program designed for children in grades 1-8. A small group of children is paired with a Study Buddy, who is a volunteer from a local high school or an adult from the community. In addition to providing homework help, the program also focuses on relationship building and mentorship. In addition, volunteer groups provide and serve food to the children beforehand.
Pizza Mania
Our club’s SIGNATURE project. Pizza Mania is an annual fundraising event for the Wesley Child Care Center in Glenview, Illinois, featuring all-you-can-eat pizza from local restaurants, raffles, and other family-friendly activities. Today, the speaker at our club meeting featured Luis Lopez from The Benjamin Lopez Foundation. Luis shared the story and purpose of this foundation, which was sparked by the tragic loss of his son, Benjamin, and how the foundation upholds Benjamin's commitment to saving lives and making a lasting impact on others, despite his own struggles. At an early age, Benjamin was diagnosed with Autoimmune Hepatitis (AIH) and lived his life with this chronic condition. (see the whole story here: www.benlopezfoundation.org/bens-story).
The Kiwanis Club of Glenview-Northbrook made a generous donation to its foundation.
