At this weeks Kiwanis Club meeting our speaker was Calvin Lam of the CoderSchool, Glenview. In an AI world, the CoderSchool teaches kids (of all ages) to think logically, explain their ideas, and problem-solve creatively and not solely relying on AI for easy answers. Code Coaches help turn big ideas into real tech projects...all while having some fun. Learning to code builds critical thinking skills that will help coders to thrive in an AI-centric world. This week's meeting featured Deb DaSilva, Senior Director of Partner Engagement at Exodus World Service. Exodus World Service mobilizes local communities to welcome and befriend refugees (people who are forced to flee their country due to WAR or PERSECUTION). Exodus helps to assimilate refugees by providing support for everyday living (care packs), meeting neighbors (building friendships), and building community (group programs).
